ASP-5 automates the softening point test by Ring-and-Ball method for bitumen and similar substances, prescribed in ASTM D36.

ASP-5自動軟化點測試儀是應用“環球法”測試瀝青軟化點的專用儀器，也可以測試其他產品的軟化點，適用于ASTM D36 GB/T4507 “石油瀝青軟化點試驗方法” (環球法)標準

A photo-electric device with wide light beam is employed to assure a reliable automatic detection of softening point. 特有的點陣式光電檢測系統，檢測準確，結果可靠。

EASY OPERATION: Just set up the specimen, determine the bath liquid type， and press the START key; all the rest of the test procedures such as heating, softening point detection, and heater cooling are performed automatically.

將試樣裝入儀器后，只需要簡單設定試驗參數，按下啟動鍵，儀器便會按標準規定自動升溫，當達到軟化點溫度時，儀器自動檢測該點溫度，并自動顯示該點溫度，同時停止加熱和報警通知試驗結束。

EXACT TEMPERATURE RISE CONTROL: Exact temperature rise rate can be attained not only with water bath but also with glycerin bath by the precise heater control.

在不同的試驗條件要求下ASP-5可使用水浴或油浴，配合多介質控溫程序，可精確控制試樣溫度。

RELIABLE FALLING BALL DETECTION: Thanks to the wide light projector and wide light receiver, the ASP-5 detects the falling ball even if the ball falls with some angle.

特殊的光電檢測設計，避免因測試球落下角度不同可能引起的誤差。測試結果與手動試驗結果相比，有良好的再現性,并且精度更高。

SAFETY MECHANISM: Generation of harmful vapor from overheated glycerin is prevented by the safety shutdown.控溫精確，過熱保護，自動關機，有效避免加熱甘油時產生有毒氣體。

CALIBRATION CAPABILITY: By simply setting a traceable thermometer right next to the PT-100 temperature sensor and running a test to record and compare the two temperature readings, user can easily carry out a traceable temperature calibration. 儀器使用過程中可應用標準的試驗溫度計對溫度傳感器進行矯正，全過程非常簡單，無須過多培訓，另：儀器出廠時全部調整完畢，通常無需再調整

DATA HANDLING: The unit is equipped to store up to 20 successive test results and export to an optional printer or to a LIMS through an RS232 port. 儀器可記錄后20 次的試驗數據，內置電池，即使關機數據也不會丟失。還可以通過RS-232外接打印機輸出，或同實驗室信息管理系統（LIMS）通訊，便于集中控制管理。

COMPACT DESIGN: The test head unit can be stacked on the control unit and is also small enough (only 23cm in width) to be operated inside of a fume hood. 儀器需放置于通風櫥內，而測試部與控制部組合放置，占地很小(整體寬23cm )。

(a) the sample falls on only one side and not on the other within the set temperature range,

(b) the sample does not fall on either side within the set upper limit temperature,

(c) light projector or receiver is found defective,

(d) temperature sensor is found defective,

(e) temperature sensor not placed in the right position,
